Irving Dining Chair - Wood Legs
This is Maxwell Blake's replica Saarinen dining chair with wood legs. Considered by some to be a purist in his approach, Eero Saarinen sought the essential idea and reduced it to the most effective structural solution within an overall unity of design. To that end, Saarinen's Executive Chair designed in 1950 recognized the importance of user comfort by using a shell constructed from fiberglass, a pliable material that flexes in response to body weight.
At Maxwell Blake, we pay homage to Saarinen's original design making every effort to produce a chair comparable in quality. The chair's frame is made with a molded reinforced polyurethane shell and seat of contoured plywood upholstered in urethane foam cushioning. We use real, steam bent, solid wood legs (not plywood) in a variety of hardwoods such as American Walnut or Natural, Black or Wenge (espresso) stained Ash wood. Maxwell Blake's reproduction Executive Armchair is available in a wide range of fabric upholstery selections and is also available separately in versions of leather, stainless steel legs, or with arms. A wonderful addition to any dining room, it also works equally well in a variety of other home or office spaces and is one of Maxwell Blake's best selling dining chairs.
